If you were to see her
from the fifth floor of a downtown apartment building
the dark figure passing strange and floating miragelike amidst the brokenbrick chimneys and graveltopped roofs
you might only see a flurry of black and fading garments flapping in the wind
If she were to look up you might also see, through green spider plant spindles and the raindrizzled window, the blue and sorrow of her eyes
If it were night you might not see her at all…till she were at your door…
