Despite the presence of clowns and jugglers, I have always found a sadness in circus shows. I heard by chance of the arrival of a circus nearby and asked if I could take some behind the scenes shots. They were only too happy to have a personal photographer and the images I made that day, May 4th 2018, became a small book.
