Waterscapes by Harry Snowden

The origin of the Rogue River is high in the Cascade mountains in S.W. Oregon. Tumbling down the ancient Mt. Mazama, the river passes through wild volcanic landscapes and deep into a Douglas-fir forest.

The Rogue River Gorge lies on the side of this great mountain and cuts its way though 72 million year old lava beds, polishing the rock into wild organic shapes. Amazing waterfalls are created by the collapse of old lava tubes. At times the river disappears entirely into these tubes.
