Aamora Guest Photographer: Dawn Duffield

Antique by Dawn Duffield

Destiny
For me, there is something romantic about items that existed long before I came along.

Things, like people, that have managed to survive decades, even centuries, often show their history in marks of endurance and occasional abuse.

Individuals who have suffered through war, the loss of a loved one, loneliness and despair can be the most loyal, lifelong friends.

A Simple TurnSeedlessGlamor
When I restore vintage and antique items, I know that one day long after I am gone, a story will be told, a story about love and endurance, and how they don’t make things the way they once did.

  5. Very beautiful shots and ruminations, Dawn. I’m wondering whose hands turned those doorknobs to open what doors into whose rooms where someone wore pink dresses adorned with soft bunnytail pompoms…

  6. What wonderful photos! I feel like I’m strolling through this lovely shop with you! LOVE the pink dresses!

  7. Thank you so much!!!!! I think you are all incredible artists; I look forward to learning from those of you I do not already know, and am excited to continue to learn from those I love and admire. I am so happy to be here 🙂

  8. When the moon is in the Seventh House
    And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius
    The Age of Antiquities
    Antiquities! Antiquities!

    Harmony and understanding
    Sympathy and trust abounding
    No more falsehoods or derisions
    Golden living dreams of visions
    Mystic crystal revelation
    And the mind’s true liberation
    Antiquities! Antiquities!

OK, that was hopelessly stupid, but your photos rock Aamora’s Playland. I too love the pink duds, but the pen and ink blows the doors off Aamora’s Playland.

  9. A fascinating post Dawn, and I too feel the fascination of the antique and vintage and the memories involved. Your photos evoke this and I especially like the pink dresses! phot
