For the last six years, I have photographed the Medieval Fair in Norman, Oklahoma. Shooting the Fair is like shooting on the street except that people at the Fair are often dressed in costume and want to be photographed. I like the spontaneity I get before the subject notices the camera. However, asking the subject first gives me more control over what is in the background. I can ask the subject to move this way or that, and I have more time to consider my vantage point or angle of view.
